Working in affiliation with the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, the Georgia Teacher Leader Consortium seeks to promote the effective application of National Board Teaching standards through greater awareness and understanding. The organization is committed to enhancing public education in Georgia. We are committed to on-going support for teacher leaders seeking to make a difference in their professional learning communities and for their students. All educators are welcomed to join us. Every student deserves great teachers. Every professional learning community deserves a National Board Certified Teacher. Hill Day 2023 Representative Shea Roberts GA House District 52 is an advocate for educators. She invited the Georgia Teacher Leader Consortium members to be recognized during before the State General Assembly. Elletta Denson is the African-American in the State of Georgia and the Atlanta Public School System to achieve National Board Certification in 1998-99. The highest credentials a teacher can earn is National Board Certification and a doctorate. Elletta has been fortunate to have earned both with 36 years of teaching and she still loves it!!! She has worked tirelessly over the years assisting other teachers pursuing National Board Certification ,Teacher Leadership , and Teaching/Learning across the nation. Every support group in the State since 1999 she helped create. She has renewed my National Board Certification twice. Heavenly Montgomery was recognized as well for achieving National Board Certification and creating the FIRST Georgia Teacher Leader Network assisting teachers interested in National Board Certification. I serve as Vice President of the network. She has recently renewed her certification as well. She lobbies on behalf of National Board Certified Teachers and those interested to ensure stipends, scholarships, and salary increases.
